Vic: Victims of Bali bombing to receive more funding

Bali bombing victims with permanent disabilities and long-term injuries are to receive
additional funds from the Australian Red Cross.

Australian Red Cross secretary MARTINE LETTS says this applies to people with long-term
injuries, permanent disabilities and to the dependants of deceased.

They'll now receive a second and final round of lump sum payments to help with the
recovery process.

In June some victims received cash payments ranging from $7,500 to $10,000 from the
charity under its Long Term Assistance Grants.

The same people are to receive between $5,000 and $10,000 early next year.

Ms LETTS says the Red Cross hopes the additional lump sum payments will contribute
towards meeting the longer-term needs of the affected individuals.

The charity came under fire earlier this year for not passing on enough of the $15.3
million raised in the Bali Appeal to victims of the October 2002 blasts.
