Fed: Political parties need rules like unions says Lees

CANBERRA, Feb 8 AAP - Political parties needed to have similar rules to unions to clean-up
their internal workings, Australian Democrats Leader Meg Lees said today.

Senator Lees yesterday launched a 12-point plan to make political parties more democratic,
more accountable to their members and to help restore public confidence in Australia's
political system.

Disillusionment and disenfranchisement amongst voters was getting worse, Senator Lees said.
